Berkshire JDC's

Details of the JDC Programme for 2012 are now being finalised and nominationsto attend the sessions are being actively sought from schools and clubs in and around Berkshire.

Our Junior Development Programme for 2013will bea six session programme of structured coaching with the aim of developing core hockey skills in junior players commencing 6th September for 6 weeks.

The focus of the Development Centres is on quality training. Each session has been designed by our Director of Coaching, Mark Scarth based upon the latest recommendations and thinking of England Hockey Board. The session is run by a Head Coach for the evening, supported by a team ofAssistant Coaches and Assessors.Generally, players train in their own age group.

This year the emphasis will be more firmly on developing skills at the sessions, with selection for JAC and County matches being in a separate process. To enable theintroduction ofa more structured feedback report for every player we shall be appointing a Head Coach to run the sessions for each group with a coach-player ratio of a maximum of 1:12.

We welcome players from South Oxfordshire and North Hamshire if our centres are nearer than those in their home counties.

Applications can be made by email toSally at [email protected] .

Every player that attends the JDC programme will be invited to attend the JAC Selection events from which a squad will be selected to train and develop team player skills and to take part in County matches. Players from the JAC will be selected to attend Junior Regional Performance Centres (JRPC) run by England Hockey to progess along the player pathway.
