The Ladder

Below is a list showing the career progression for hockey umpires.
The Young Umpire Award is the most junior and the list progresses to the most senior that can be awarded by the national association.

Young Umpire Award

Aimed mainly at mini hockey

Preliminary Umpire Award

For young and occasional club umpires and teachers

Level One Register

Aimed at umpires who wish to umpire at first XI county league standard

Level Two Register

Aimed at umpires who wish to umpire at first XI divisional (e.g. South) league games

EHL Umpire

Aimed at umpires who wish to umpire at national league games

National Badge Umpire

For umpires who can officiate over any level match in the country
