Vacancies

We are looking for qualified coaches (Level 1 and above) for the girls and boys County Youth Squads from August 2007 including Level 2 coaches for the Player Development Centres on June 2/3, 9/10, 16/17, 23/24.
 
Volunteers are also needed for a couple of hours a week in the following roles:
Treasurer
Youth Co-ordinator
Youth Squad Managers
Girls Youth Co-ordinator
Schools Liason Officer (Boys)
Fixture Refreshment person

Honorary Treasurer - Maintenance of the Association’s Books and Records

Treasury

  • The control of the Association’s cash resources;

  • The organisation of the Association’s cash resources in such a way as to maximise the benefit to the Association.

    Reporting

  • Present to the general committee meetings reports which give a true and fair view of the Association’s affairs and of its income and expenditure for the appropriate period;

  • Present at the Association’s AGM a set of financial statements, which have been reviewed by the Association’s Reviewing Accountants, which give a true and fair view of the Association’s affairs and its income and expenditure for the year.

    Budgeting

  • Prepare an annual financial plan, giving details of the expected income stream for the season and the expected expenses;

  • Monitor the Associations performance against the financial plan.

    Systems of Control

  • Establish and maintain a system of controls so as to ensure:

  • The protection of the Association’s assets;

  • That the Association receives all relevant income in tact;

  • That only authorised expenditure or commitments are undertaken

    Payment of Suppliers and Others

    Collection of Income

  • Ensure that all the Association’s income is collected in a timely manner.

  • Ensure that all creditors of the Association are paid on time.

  • The maintenance of books and records which:

  • Accurately record the transactions of the Association;

  • Record the assets, liabilities, profits and losses of Association

  • Enable the reporting of the affairs of the Association so as to give true and fair view of those affairs.

    Youth County Managersto manage the administrative and operational elements to support the function of the youth squad and coach.

  • liase and disseminate all information received from the Girls/Boys youth co-ordinator to the squad and coach
  • Manage all squad administrative tasks:
  • Pre trial/post trial forms to players
  • Disseminate training and fixture information to the squad
  • collect affiliation/match fees and send to Girls/Boys Youth Co-ordinator
  • collect kit order forms and medical consent forms and send to Girls/Boys Youth Co-ordinator
  • Manage and co-ordinate, in conjunction with the Girls/Boys youth Co-ordinator, all squad kit/equipment including squad shirts, first aid, balls and produce an end of season audit/request for renewed items
  • Attend match fixtures and share responsibility with the squad coach for the care and well being of all young people in the squad
  • Complete/co-ordinate the completion of a match report following each fixture
  • Provide the Girls/Boys Youth Co-ordinator with fixture results and match report

    Match day Support - to serve refreshments at Berkshire County fixtures and festivals 

  • Girls/Boys Youth Co-ordinator to be the central liaison point and co-ordinator for the complete workings of the Girls/Boys Youth County section

  • communicate with Girls/Boys Youth managers and coaches
  • liase with the treasurer and control/manage the Girls/Boys Youth budget
  • organise and chair the Girls/Boys Youth Meetings. Produce & circulate action points. (inc. sending to Committee).
  • Support Head Coach/Mentor in seeking out coaches/managers/volunteers for teams
  •  be the central point of contact with the Girls/Boys South and Counties and attend South meetings
  • distribute information to Girls/Boys coaches, managers and volunteers
  • In conjunction with the Head Coach/Mentor, communicate information to coaches and managers re trials, assessment and training schedules
  • Give out and collect in squad equipment before and after each season
  • Ensure coaches/managers are aware of pitch hire bookings system via Competition Manager
  • Support Website Manager/Newsletter Editor by ensuring Coaches, Managers and Boys/Girls School Liaison Officer contribute to the Berkshire Hockey newsletter and website by completing a fixture report post fixture
  •  Attend Berkshire Hockey meetings
  • Support Competition Manager by ensuring Coaches/Managers send all squad information for the Player database and all fixture results to Competition Manager

     Child Welfare Officerto be the central liaison point and co-ordinator for the welfare of all young people within the BHA Youth section organise and manage all CRB checks on coaches, managers and volunteers working within the BHA Youth section

  • maintain a central database containing personal details of all coaches, managers and volunteers working within the BHA Youth section

  • Communicate with coaches to ensure they hold up to date coaching qualifications and insurance

  • Provide annual child welfare guidance to coaches, managers and volunteers eg documentation, workshops
