Junior Hockey

It is an exciting time of change as we adjust to the transition from a South Region and County structure to work to the Single System initiative from England Hockey. The 2009/10 season is our first with the new JDC and JAC format hopefully building on the trial programmes we ran last year.

We are committed to developing our young players to the best of their potential through the Berkshire Academy and Berkshire Junior Development Centres. We have now started our Junior Development Centre Programme from which the best players will be invited to attend The Berkshire Academy programme in January through to March 2010, culminating in competitive matches against other counties..

Our Berkshire Junior squads enter the Southern Counties Hockey Association Junior County Championships.

The Boys: U13, U14, U15, U16, U17 compete against the following Counties:  Buckinghamshire, Middlesex, Hampshire, Sussex, Surrey, Kent and Oxfordshire

The Girls:  U13, U14, U15, U16, U17 compete against the following Counties:  Buckinghamshire, Middlesex, Hampshire, Sussex, Surrey and Oxfordshire

Regretfully there is no current planned fixtures for our U18 teams, although we have notified the other counties that we would be very interested in the opportunity for any matches.
