Junior Development Centres

Purpose

England Hockey are looking to implement the Single System nationally, of which the County Hockey Association's play a vital role in its delivery and success.

A key provision of the Single System is the development of Juniors within Hockey.  As a result, Berkshire Hockey Association have introduced a suite of Junior Development Centres, (JDC), as a step before the County level team which is now to be termed the Berkshire Academy which in the terminology of England Hockey is a Junior Academy Centre, (JAC). Our JDC programme operates for under 12, under 13, under 14, under 15, under 16 and under 17 girls and under 12, under 13, under 14, under 15, under 16 and under 18 boys. One of the features of the England Hockey system is that eligibility is not by school year but a criteria of being, say, under 13 on 1st January 2009 and therefore under 13 is being replaced by birth date i.e. 1996 in this example.
